Nutritional Therapy is an evidence-based approach to maximizing one's health potential through individually formulated nutritional and lifestyle changes. Every individual is as unique as a rain drop or snow flake that falls from the sky, and so are the needs for our bodies, the "one-size fits all" model of eating simply doesn't work. When we don't give our bodies the tools to work with, a breakdown in each system of the body will begin to occur. The plethora of health problems inundating our society today is caused by subpar nutrition resulting in the degradation of ones foundational health. I teach people the importance of properly prepared, nutrient-dense, whole foods that are delicious, nourish our bodies, and restore good health.
Our bodies have an innate knowing of what to do when given the right tools. "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food." - Hippocrates
I take a Functional holistic approach with each client: we look at the body as a whole while seeking the root source of health concerns, rather than simply treating the symptoms. We are one complete being and I look at each individual as such, taking an in-depth look into health history, current eating habits, environmental factors, stress and toxic burden from multiple sources. When one's diet isn't optimal our bodies become biochemically imbalanced thus leading to ill health.
As I work with clients we determine which test(s) are necessary to begin. We will constantly do a "system check" for what is working and what may need to be changed. We will work as a team setting realistic goals together to give optimal results for each individual.
Remember we are all bio-individually different so every nutritional plan is unique - each person is ultimately responsible for their realistic goal setting and the results achieved. Bear in mind one doesn't become ill or acquire an autoimmune disease over night so the healing process isn't instantaneous either.
Testing I offer:
Testing is an integral part of our discovery process. With testing we get definitive answers as to what the root cause of an illness may be so we can then move forward on a healing protocol.
GI-Map - this test is essential with any digestive issues or autoimmune disease.
MRT - this test is key in find hidden inflammation due to chemical or food sensitivities. (this is not a food allergy test)
Adrenal Panel (saliva or urine)
Hormone Panel (Male and Female - saliva or urine)
Comprehensive Blood Panel (I look at these markers from a functional view to determine where there could be potential nutritional deficiencies. My goal is to prevent disease.)
